I like to keep up on the new alternative really weird stuff out there, I learn new cool things sometimes. There is no telling who and what you can find out there. The ones I find most fascinating are the fear monger showboat grandstanding type. Especially the Christian Zealot ones that have become the very thing that they themselves fear the most. Let's take this fine example: "Welcome to the world of Steve Quayle." I was listening to him via Youtube/podcast - Coast to Coast AM this morning and I just had to laugh out loud. Poor Steve is seriously convinced the world is coming to an end and scary satanic giant monsters are coming to get him and he has historical proof of it. He is warning the world to find Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior and stat. I think they have him on C2C because he is WAY OUT THERE, and even though he may bring down the credibility of the show, he is interesting.
Yet, I found myself feeling sort of sick to my stomach hearing him get all worked up today with his bleak redundant biblical predictions and that this psychologically challenged grandiose man was being exploited for our entertainment. It's almost cruel that they let this guy on the air. He is certainly stuck in his own private hell and he doesn't want to go it alone. I hope this repetitive preachy guy is just trying to scam the bible belt out of a few bucks. If he convinces enough of you that evil monsters are coming to get you, you will buy his books and he can begin to pay for the psychotherapy his family is going to need, especially in 2013.
I have been listening to all of the dooms day scenarios and conspiracies out there and there are a few I consider valid. Yet, I have come to the conclusion that being mad as hell and blaming the "They" is not helping. Dude, you ARE the They. WE are the THEY, and we have the power - to change ourselves and this planet. I know that is hard to swallow - facing ourselves - better and worse is probably the reason we are here in the first place. Making people angry and afraid doesn't help much. The biggest scariest thing to look at may be that we need to take responsibility for ourselves, learn from the consequences of our bad decisions and adjust and change accordingly as a race of beings - TOGETHER. I think bringing workable solutions people can wrap their heads around is a much better approach. I do believe in a Universal Creator Steve, but not yours.
But please by all means keep up the self proclaimed stories of "Remarkable Accuracy" about ancient giant aliens buried deep inside the earth in hidden time capsule sleeping chambers waiting for their wake up call from Beelzebub, as he flies in on the planet five times the size of Jupiter with legions of demons coming to steal manna from earth and make us their dinner. Please tell me you handle snakes and speak in tongues after your radio broadcasts. I sure hope you do. Thanks for your definition of the word "Discernment" you were going on about on last nights show. I'm sure your use of discernment is making your Christian brothers proud.
I have never done this before, I went to Steve Quayle's website, found his email address and wrote him this email today. I couldn't help myself. I was hoping to find out if the man read his emails or possibly - a long shot - thought he would have an intelligent thought provoking response. Here it is:
